Description: |
Here is one of only two 4-6-4 Hudsons that Maine Central ever owned. Built by Baldin in May of 1930, it lasted until 1955 with the last years seeing duties at the Portland Terminal Company. Its sister, #701 was retired in 1950. Specs - Serial #61371, class D, 73" drivers, impressive 240 psi boiler pressure, 23x28" cylinders, engine weight of 312,590 lb, tractive effort of 41,392 lb. An unknown photographer took this photo. No date or location were listed either. |
