The locomotive was designed and built in two batches by General Electric, fifty locomotives in 1972 and another twenty in 1973. They were numbered in the range from 35-001 to 35-070. The newly laid track is kinky since there's still a hole on the side of the roadbed that needs to be filled in before the track can be straightened, welded and ballasted. The four locos are still lying where they fell, except the lead loco, which had to be dragged aside to clear the roadbed. |
