Caught sitting in the Bensenville, IL, yard with steam up is this 1918 Alco built 2-8-2 "heavy" USRA Mikado. Originally numbered 8633, it was renumbered 333 after 1938. Specs - class L3, 63" drivers, 27 x 32" cylinders, 190 psi boiler pressure, engine weighed 325,000 pounds, 59,800 pounds of tractive effort. Bruce Black photo
