"Pennsy" Magazine, November-December 1963
Here is a photo from an article entitled "New Man On The Job." It was published originally in the November-December 1963 issue of "Pennsy" magazine, page 1. The photographer is not identified. Photo Caption: "Retiring Chairman James M. Symes hands a switch key, symbol of office, to Stuart T. Saunders. In background is number plate from the last steam engine in PRR service." Actually, it's the smoke box number plate from Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5244, a B-6SB (0-6-0) switcher built in Juniata during February of 1916 and retired on 15 July 1959 after 43 years of faithful service.
