PRR 5497, K-4S, 1956
Wood. Here is an image of a photo by Don Wood that was taken in Matawan, New Jersey, in 1956. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5497, a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during February of 1928 and retired in April of 1958 after 30 years of faithful service. In this context, it's just started to pull a passenger train out of the Station in Matawan (not "Red Bank," as indicated). Edward Kaspriske Collection.
