| Union Pacific Railroad Slug S25 at North Little Rock, Arkansas on July 31, 1986, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number S25 was built in January 1952 ( c/n 15835 ) as T&P SW8 816, renumbered T&P 8005, then MP 8005. In August 1981, number 8005 was cut down to a slug and renumbered MP 1416, in March 31, 1986 repainted in North Little Rock style lettering and numbered UP S25. Note the slug was equipped with a fuel filler, but I have not found evidence it was equipped with fuel transfer facilities. |
