| Stations. Here is an original photo that I took at the Amtrak Passenger Station in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 30 August 1976. Shown here (L to R) are Edna Griffith carrying her nephew Thomas Lantz, Harry Lantz and his son Tom, the Amtrak Station Agent, Lois Ayers (my mother), as well as Agnes Lantz and her daughter-in-law Ricki. We're all waiting for the train to Harrisburg to arrive on a very sunny day. Visible in the background is the PC/Amtrak "Temporary Station Altoona." This modified house trailer was in "temporary" service for over five years! |
