PC 6278, SD40, 1975
PC Power. Here is an original photo that I took of a Penn Central Railroad train near Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, on 5 June 1975. Shown here are PC engines #6278 and #2297. Both were built by GM-EMD. #6278 is an SD40, while #2297 is a GP35. They are pulling an eastbound merchandise freight (with autoracks) and are about to cross State Route 829 ~ just off of US Route 22, East of Huntingdon. The mountains of the Juniata River Valley dominate the background.
