Any time there was a big snowfall, the LIRR essentially annulled its schedules, and ran everything as all stop extras. This night was one of those, with 14" of snow falling in the region. The weather kept everyone scrambling, as trains ran in ways they usually did not. Thus we have this Port Jefferson train running east on track 1, making a Mineola stop before heading on to Hicksville and up the Port Jeff Branch. Another eastbound is approaching in the distance, and will be running on this train's blocks. It will be a long night for everyone. |
