CP-Deposit/Automatic 174
CP-Deposit has an interesting setup. Going west on main 1 is a plain automatic. I guess in the days when the spring switch reigned that it was easier having this type of a setup. Looking west, we see the signal on track 2 where the gons are, as an absolute. The spring switch signal is disengaged by the red light.

Tom Beckett General When EL single tracked most of the line around 1973, the spring switches were installed as kind of a poor man's CTC, so that crews would not, in most cases, have to get down and throw switches, then close them up, eliminating some inconvenience, along with the associated delay. Sad to see a 10 MPH sign here. The line was never a high speed railroad, but that's discouraging. 9/11/2018 6:30:28 AM
