Victoria Broskie	General	5012 was donated to the ORM in 1952, and actually operated at the museum for quite a few many years. The car has not just continued to sit and rust away, and the car's interior is in rather good shape.	9/3/2013 12:30:52 AM

Victoria Broskie	General	The 5012 has been sold, hence why the ORM currently has done anything to the car as it is no longer ours. As for why she is still on ORM property, that's the fault of the new owner.	9/4/2013 4:57:25 PM

Stu Nicholson	General	One would wonder why, if the new owners cared enough to buy it, they would not choose to take steps to protect their investment. Regardless of the circumstances, it is absurdly sad to allow a one-of-a-kind piece of railroad history deteriorate. Victoria Broskie	General	Well Stu, the current organization at the ORM is dealing with about 40 years of equipment neglect from the previous organizations. We're an extremely small group compared to other museums, and we're doing all that we can to preserve the equipment before it deteriorates any further. Sadly we can't protect and preserve all of the pieces at once, and unfortunately 5012 has had to suffer. While the state of the ORM isn't as once as glorious as it once was, I can assure you that things are being worked on and these cars still have a future ahead of them. We would extremely appreciate if people would do their research and ask the museum about the equipment before making their own assumptions.	9/4/2013 10:30:55 PM

Stu Nicholson	General	I am well aware of the state of the organization both then and now. But if there is a lack of knowledge or understanding currently, that is because few outside of the ORM know what's going on. That's a marketing and public relations issue that should be dealt with. The day I shot these photos (Labor Day), I had two visitors drive in and had no idea the ORM was only open on Sundays. They both had kids with them as well. I know you and he other volunteers have good hearts and the best of intentions, but you've got a good story to tell and there is little or no information out there about how you're trying your best to keep the ORM alive. People can do research, but there is very little information on the ORM website that details the rolling stock, what's being done to preserve it or how people can help.	9/5/2013 3:32:37 PM
