CRYSTAL STREAM was a Plan 9505 6-double-bedroom/buffet/lounge built by Budd in March 1949 for the New York Central, one of eleven such cars in Lot. No. 9663. First numbered NYC 10620-10630, ten of them went into the Penn Central 4411-4423 series, and nine of these became AMTK 3200-3208. CRYSTAL STREAM was NYC 10625, then NYC 661 for use as a parlor car, and then PC 4414. The car was photographed on the PANAMA LIMITED at New Orleans Union Passenger Terminal. |
