NJT 4405
NJT 4405 is the rear power on the Atlantic City Express Service (ACES) train and has just pushed the train through the tunnel from NYC and into Newark Penn Station. The train runs express with no stops from here to AC, but after the train leaves the NE Corridor the line to AC is not electrified. The electric unit drops its pantograph in Newark for the rest of the trip, but it is still propelling the train. The diesel at the head end is used to generate the electricity, while the toaster on the rear uses the electricity to run its motor.
