| Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad GP30 951 at Eola, Illinois on July 17, 1965, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Built in April 1962 (c/n 27162) on EMD Order 7621, it became BN 2228 and was traded to GE in June 1982. This is an eastbound train setting out cars at Eola. On the left in the photo is the CB&Q Reclamation Pmant, where many steam locomotives and a variety of rolling stock were scrapped. This yard was also used for interchange with the EJ&E, and the J's main line passed over the CB&Q behind me in this photograph. |
