Description: |
Built in 1950 by AC&F in Lot #3445 as GN Ranch Car #1241 RUNNING CRANE LAKE, 1 of 6 such cars (#1240-#1245) built in that Lot for the Mid-Century EMPIRE BUILDER, which was ordered in October 1949; cars were delivered between October 1950 and March 1951. The Ranch Cars had a 14 seat lunch counter, a 12 seat dinette, and a 18 seat lounge. #1240-#1242 and #1244-#1245 were owned by GN; #1243 was owned by CB&Q after 1953. The #8150 was retired in July 1981 and in 1983 to the Nicolet Badger Northern in Laona, WI. The car was later owned by Golden State Limited in Verdi, NV, before being acquired by Lou Steplock-Wyoming & Pacific as WPRX #1241.
