Tokai Carbon Co. car SRCX 800 was photographed at the Tokai plant in Addis, Louisiana. Tokai acquired Sid Richardson Carbon in 2018, along with its car fleet, thus the SRCX reporting mark on this car. This 5800 cubic foot car had been built by Thrall Car Manufacturing Co. in 1971. It was mismarked with a LD LMT of 154,000 pounds and a LT WT of 59,600 pounds, but these should be 159,600 and 60,400 for a gross rail load of 220,000 pounds. |
