Description:
Louisiana & Arkansas 555 was one of two Mikados (555, 556) built by Baldwin in January 1927. In this April 1951 photo it was parked next to the new engine house at WEST YARD, just outside of New Orleans. The loco was scrapped by the railroad at Pittsburg, Kansas in July 1953. (approximate day of photo)
