HOMC Steeplecab #307 - Hanna Ore Mining Co
Title:  HOMC Steeplecab #307 - Hanna Ore Mining Co
Description:  Built by GE in 1927, this electric steeplecab was one of three ordered at that time for the Hanna Ore Mining Company. The three worked the Wabigon Mine near Buhl, MN until the mine closed in 1930. The loco and its sister units were then sent to the Mesabi Chief Mines near Keewahn, MN. When that mine closed in 1968, the Hanna Ore Mining Company then donated the loco in 1974 to the Lake Superior RR Museum. Its sister units were donated to mining museums and a town for a park display.

MILW Boxcab #10200 - Milwaukee Road
Title:  MILW Boxcab #10200 - Milwaukee Road
Description:  This massive Milwaukee Road boxcab was built by GE in 1915 and was considered the most powerful electric locomotive in the world at that time. The loco is actually made of two half units semi-permanently joined together. Due to the close packing of displays at the museum, it's difficult to photograph the entire massive locomotive. Its major ability was to pull long freight trains over the mountainous divisions in the western United States.
