Nice group of b& white photos of Baltimore & Ohio Q-4 class 2-8-2 Mikados. Several of the photos were missing information and none had a photographer listed.

Description:
Long before a GP40 wore the B&O #4437, this Baldwin 2-8-2 Mikado had the honor. Built in march of 1921, it served for nearly 33 years before bing retired and scrapped in May of 1954 at the Mt Clare, MD yards. Specs - Q-4 class, 64" drivers, 220 psi boiler pressure, 26x32" cylinders, engine weight of 327,400 lb, tractive effort of 63,200 lb. No exact date in 1941 was given and no photographer was listed.

BO 2-8-2 #4430 - Baltimore & Ohio
Description:
This Baltimore & Ohio 2-8-2 Mikado #4430 was built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in March of 1921 (serial #54677). It serverd the needs of the B&O well in both freight and passenger service. Late in its life, it was renumbered B&O 418 in 1957 to make room on the roster for the incoming diesels. The loco met the scrapper's torch in Chicago, IL in July of 1959. Specs - Q-4 class, 64" drivers, 220 psi boiler pressure, 26x32" cylinders, engine weight of 327,400 lb, tractive effort of 63,200 lb. No exact date in 1945 was given and no photographer was listed.

BO 2-8-2 #4462 - Baltimore & Ohio
Description:
Here is a 2-8-2 Mikado built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in September of 1922 as B&O #4462 (serial #55678). It served in both freight and sometimes passenger service for nearly 36 years before being retired in January of 1958 at Fairmont, WV. In 1957, it was renumbered to BO #440 for a short while before meeting the scrapper's torch. Specs - Q-4 class, 64" drivers, 220 psi boiler pressure, 26x32" cylinders, engine weight of 327,400 lb, tractive effort of 63,200 lb. No exact date in 1947 was given and no photographer was listed.

Description:
With a head of steam up and ready, Baltimore & Ohio 2-8-2 Mikado #4434 is ready for the next assignment as it sits in the Glenwood, PA yard. Built by Baldwin in March of 1921 (serial #54681), it served the B&O for nearly 38 years. In 1957 to make room for new diesels, the loco was renumbered B&O #421. It was finally retired while in Cleveland, OH, in November of 1959. Specs - Q-4 class, 64" drivers, 220 psi boiler pressure, 26x32" cylinders, engine weight of 327,400 lb, tractive effort of 63,200 lb. No exact date in 1948 was given and no photographer was listed.
